Delikatesy na Postalm

Náhorní plošina Postalm, která se rozprostírá mezi jezerem Wolfgangsee a horským střediskem Abtenau, je úžasná nejen z pohledu pěší turistiky, ale také díky kulinárním zážitkům. Na největší náhorní planině Rakouska (1 200 - 1 900 m n. m.) se nachází celá řada chat, tzv. Hütten, které se předhánějí v nabídce domácích specialit. Postalm, neboli poštovní pastvina, se před 300 lety kvůli těžbě dřeva jmenovala Holzalm. Až později sem byly přiváděny poštovní koně na pastvu. Nejstarší chatou je historische Postalmhütte z roku 1853. Musím říct, že právě tady jsem ochutnala jeden z nejlepších císařských trhanců (Kaiserschmarrn) v Rakousku. K tomu domácí plnotučný kefír, který jsem si dala hned dvakrát. Když jsem se ptala, jaké je tajemství receptu – prý absolutní kvalita surovin. Od mléka, másla až po vejce – vše z vlastní produkce. Dalším místem, které stojí za to navštívit, je Schnitzhof Alm, kde prodávají skvělé sýry. Můžete si je dát na prkénku nebo koupit s sebou. Dřevěná Wieslerhütte mě dostala svými zahradními saláty. Podávají je například k tradičnímu sýrovému knedlíku Kaspressknödel. Horských chat je tu mnohem více, než jsem zatím stihla navštívit, ale musím ještě připomenout Blondehütte, kde mají fantastické štrúdly. Letos se chystám prozkoumat další!

Doprava: Kdo se nechce pohodlně vyvézt autem na Postalm zpoplatněnou panoramatickou silnicí (6 EUR za osobu), může zkusit poutní cestu St. Rupert Pilgerweg ze Stroblu až ke kapličce na Postalm. Na 12, 4 km počítejte s asi 5 hodinami chůze.

Tip: Projděte si stezku Almblumenweg. Jsou na ní označené horské rostliny, jimiž je louka posetá. Okruh zabere asi hodinu.

The high plateau Postalm, which is situated between Lake Wolfgang and Abtenau, is quite terrific not only from a hikers perspective, but also thanks to its culinary delights. The biggest alpine pasture area in Austria

(1 200 - 1 900 m) accommodates a large number of huts, so called Hütten, that top each other in homemade specialties. Postalm means postal pasture, but 300 years ago it was called Holzalm because of logging. Only later did it get its current name thanks to horses brought here to graze. The oldest hut is the historic Postalmhütte built in 1863. I have to say that here I've had the best Kaiserschmarrn in Austria. Accompanied by delicious kefir which I ended up ordering twice. When I asked about the secret recipe, they said it was all about the quality of products. All produced locally – from the milk, butter to the eggs. Another place not to miss is the Schnitzhof Alm, where you can buy or taste a selection of cheese. I totally fell for the wooden Wieslerhütte when I saw their salad garden. They usually serve it with the traditional cheese dumpling called Kaspressknödel. There's many more huts I haven't visited yet, but there's one more I have to mention and that's Blondehütte. Their mouthwatering strudels are definitely worth a pit stop. This year I have to explore some more!

How to get there: The Postalm Scenic Road provides easy access by car either from Strobl or Abtenau. It's a toll road (6 Euro per person), but well kept and the views are quite unique. If you prefer to hike, try the St. Rupert pilgrim road from Strobl up to the chapel at Postalm. Calculate about 5 hours for this 12, 4 km walk.

Tip: Don't miss the Alpine Flower Path where you get to know all the rare plants that are growing on the pastures. This easy hike takes about an hour.
