Bruslení na Weissensee

Pokaždé, když jdu bruslit ve městě, tak se mi zasteskne po jízdě na velkém zamrzlém jezeře. Takových ploch, kde se nemusíte bát, že propadnete, moc není. Korutanské Weissensee, které jako jediné v Rakousku zamrzá, je opravdu unikát. Rozkládá se v nadmořské výšce 930 m a při tloušťce ledu 50 cm se nemusíte ničeho bát. Ani profi bruslařů, kteří tu trénují, místa je opravdu dost pro všechny! Taky tu frčí curling a všechny ostatní zimní sporty – běžky, lyže, sněžnice. Na relax a zahřátí po bruslení je skvělá horská chata Naggler Alm, ale také v centru Techendorfu, městečka na březích jezera, najdete řadu dobrých restaurací. Celoročně tu chytají čerstvé ryby, takže je určitě vyzkoušejte.

Whenever I go ice skating in the city, I miss the open space of a natural lake. But there aren't many safe frozen bodies of water to play on. The Carinthian Lake Weissensee is, therefore, quite unique. In winter it becomes the largest natural ice surface in Europe. The location 930 meters above sea level helps to preserve the thickness of the ice. It's about 50 cm, so you have nothing to worry about. Not even the pros, who are training, there's plenty of space for everyone! There are also other winter sports you can enjoy here – curling, skiing, cross country skiing, snowshoe hiking.
